Stainforth Town Deal Public Realm Improvements

Stainforth Town Deal Board are pleased to announce that work to deliver the Public Realm Improvements has started. This is the first Town Deal project to be delivered for Stainforth.

Information for Residents

This project aims to provide a better experience for residents and visitors by replacing the existing footpaths with new paving which will enhance the shopping area. The work also includes replacing the existing lighting columns and a new bus shelter on Church Road. The improvements will be along parts of Station Road and Church Road.

Businesses operating in the scheme boundary also have the opportunity to apply for a Shop Front Improvement grant to improve their shop frontage. Businesses can receive further information on this by emailing PublicRealmImprovements@doncaster.gov.uk. 

Work will be completed in two phases to minimise disruption by reducing the extent of the traffic diversions where necessary. Phase 1 will take place from Emerson Avenue to East Lane and phase 2 from Kingsway to Emerson Avenue.

Phase 1 completed
Work on Emerson Avenue to East Lane has now completed. We are extremely grateful to local businesses and residents for their patience whilst construction work took place.

Phase 2: Now underway
The public realm improvement work on Station Road (from Kingsway junction down to Emerson Avenue) began in mid-November and is expected to complete in Spring 2024. There is currently a one-way traffic system in place and traffic will only be able to move southbound between Kingsway and Emerson Avenue during this time. Diversion routes are signposted and will be in operation for the duration of the works. Access to residential and business properties will be maintained while the works are ongoing. Further communications have been sent to residents and businesses in phase 2.
