Stainforth Town Deal Public Realm Improvements

Stainforth Town Deal Board are pleased to announce that work to deliver the Public Realm Improvements scheme which included Shop Front Improvements scheme are now complete along with the Safer Streets scheme (installation of CCTV). Public realm improvement work was completed in two phases to minimise disruption by reducing the extent of the traffic diversions where necessary. Phase 1 from Emerson Avenue towards East Lane and phase 2 from Kingsway to Emerson Avenue. Businesses operating in the scheme boundary also had the opportunity to apply for a Shop Front Improvement grant to improve their shop frontage.

Public Realm Improvements

The work has truly transformed this major part of Stainforth and everyone I have spoken to is delighted with the outcome. The paving in this area was historically chaotic and an eyesore, so the Public Realm Improvements and Safer Streets Project will definitely leave a positive legacy for the town for decades to come. It's encouraging that so many businesses benefitted from the Shop Front Improvement Scheme and it's good to hear that others are still in the pipeline.  We are extremely grateful to local businesses and residents for their patience whilst construction work took place
