Economic Strategy Research

As part of the development of the Doncaster Economic Strategy 2030, in 2022, Doncaster Council commissioned Ortus Economic Research, in partnership with KADA Research, to conduct an analysis of Doncaster’s economy, including an assessment of Doncaster’s sectoral and spatial priorities. This study builds upon an Industrial Specialisms report undertaken by Ortus Economic Research and the University of Sheffield in 2018.

The key aim of the study was to generate insights which provide the basis for prioritisation and interventions to deliver Doncaster’s ambition for a regenerative and inclusive economy, taking into account existing strategy intentions. The findings of the study were incorporated into the development of the Doncaster Economic Strategy 2030, in particular the creation of Sectors of Opportunity and the Industry Platforms priority.

The study was delivered through desk research, data analysis and consultation with the public sector and private sector.

Doncaster Housing

Our homes have a powerful influence on our health and wellbeing. This has become even more apparent during 2020, when many of us spent much more time in our own homes than we normally would expect to and many of our residents were still dealing with the aftermath of the devastating floods in November 2019.

Information on housing and households allows us to identify areas where people may be at risk of social exclusion, due to the type and condition of their housing or their household structure. This report displays data on the type and tenure of dwellings as well as the condition of housing in Doncaster
