Engagement is at the heart of our Town Deal. As well as extensive community engagement, our Town Board has come together to drive forward economic growth. Our Town Board is an active, diverse and engaged Board who has been involved from the start. The Board includes stakeholders representing groups such as Local Members, public and private sector organisations, charity organisations, and local businesses.

John Roe - Chair 

John Roe is the founder and managing director of a Stainforth-based Software House specialising in reservations technology for the UK Coach Tourism sector. He has lived and worked in and around Stainforth for over six decades. 

Starting out as a Control Engineer in the steel industry, John went on to manage the family coach firm, gaining experience of European travel and business management. As the economy changed, John combined his experience of travel and technology to move into the emerging IT sector. The company now employs over a dozen specialists and is leading a supplier of e-commerce and back-office software to many of the UK's leading coach travel brands. 

John is passionate about his roots and has always maintained a close association with Stainforth and its communities. With one hand still firmly on the business, John is a key figure in the faith community, sings in local choirs and even finds time to volunteer with DCC, a Doncaster based charity providing help and services to Asylum Seekers and Refugees in the Doncaster area. 

He is proud to chair the Town Deal Board and views the project as a generational opportunity to redress years of neglect and to return prosperity and pride to the people of Stainforth.
